Privacy Policy

1. Overview

WA Web Pro - Privacy & Customizer for WhatsApp Web is a Chrome extension that adds privacy and customization features to WhatsApp Web (https://web.whatsapp.com). We are committed to transparency about data practices:

• Extension: We store only your settings on your device. The only data that may leave your device is (1) optional anonymous analytics (if you enable it) and (2) text you choose to translate (when you use that feature). We do not read, store, or upload your WhatsApp messages or contact list for our own use.
• Site: If you visit our website, we may collect limited technical and usage data as described below (e.g. cookies, analytics). We do not sell your personal information.

2. The WA Web Pro Extension

2.1 Data stored on your device

The Extension stores the following only on your device using Chrome's local storage. We do not have server-side access to this data.

We do not store chat content, contact lists, phone numbers, or any content that identifies you or others. You can change or delete this data in the Extension settings at any time. Uninstalling the Extension removes all of it.

2.2 Data that may be sent off your device

Optional analytics (Google Analytics)

If you enable analytics in the Extension settings, we may send anonymous usage events (e.g. extension installed, feature used) to Google Analytics. This may include a randomly generated client ID, session ID, extension version, and event name/category. We do not send chat messages, contacts, or personally identifiable information. You can turn off analytics in settings at any time.

Translation (Google Translate)

When you use the in-chat translation feature, only the text you select to translate is sent to Google's translation service. We do not automatically send full conversations or your contact list. If you do not use translation, no text is sent to Google.

2.3 What we do not do

• We do not read, store, or upload your WhatsApp messages for our own purposes.
• We do not collect your contact list or use it for advertising or remarketing.
• We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing.
• The Extension runs only on WhatsApp Web (and, when you use them, Google's analytics/translation endpoints). We do not run on other websites.

3. Our Website(s)

If we operate a website (e.g. landing page, documentation, or support page):

• Cookies and similar technologies: We may use cookies or similar technologies for essential operation, preferences, and analytics (e.g. to understand how the Site is used). You can control cookies through your browser settings.
• Log and usage data: Our hosting or analytics provider may collect IP address, browser type, referring URL, pages visited, and similar technical data. This is used for security, operation, and improving the Site. We do not use it to identify you personally unless required by law.
• Links: The Site may link to third-party sites (e.g. Chrome Web Store, Google). Their privacy practices are governed by their own policies.

If you contact us (e.g. via a form or email), we use the information you provide only to respond and do not share it with third parties for marketing.

4. Permissions (Extension)

The Extension requests certain Chrome permissions. We use them only as follows:

The "read and change your data on web.whatsapp.com" notice appears because we read page structure to apply blur/lock and change the visual appearance (blur, lock overlay, theme) and add our UI. We do not read or store message content for our own use.

5. Third-party services

• Google Analytics / Tag Manager: Used by the Extension only when you enable analytics, and possibly by the Site for usage statistics. See Google's Privacy Policy.
• Google Translate: Used by the Extension only when you use the translation feature. Subject to Google's Privacy Policy.

We do not control how these providers collect or use data. Their policies apply to their services.

6. Data security

• Data in Chrome's local storage is protected by the browser's storage model.
• Your lock screen password is stored only as a hash, not in plain text.
• We do not transmit your Extension settings or password to our own servers. Any data sent to Google (analytics or translation) is as described in this policy.

7. Your rights and choices

• Extension: View and change settings in the Extension settings panel. Turn off analytics to stop analytics data from being sent. Do not use translation if you do not want text sent to Google. Uninstall the Extension to delete all local data.
• Site: Use your browser settings to manage cookies. Contact us to request access to or deletion of personal data we hold about you (e.g. contact form submissions), subject to applicable law.

8. Children

Our services are not directed at children. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. Use of WhatsApp is subject to WhatsApp's terms and age requirements.

9. International users

Our services may be used globally. Data may be processed in the country where you use the Extension or where our service providers operate. By using our services, you consent to such transfer and processing to the extent permitted by law.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will be revised. Continued use of the Extension or the Site after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy. If you do not agree, please disable or uninstall the Extension and discontinue use of the Site.
